Sad Dog, another ex-general and plucked from obscurity Sec of Defense Esper have weighed in on their “knowledge” of the Constitution and History and have come down against Trump considering using troops and the Insurrection Act to quell the Floyd riots. They were appalled, I tell you appalled as they smiled at the cameras as the anti-Trump media ate it up. I’m appalled alright. I’m appalled that Trump didn’t send the troops to quell the riots sooner. He sent a few troops to DC but as of this writing Trump has not invoked the Insurrection Act, but has instead allowed Dem mayors and governors get on a knee and cave to anarchists and terrorists allowing them to destroy and loot throughout their cities.
So, let’s actually look at some history of the subject, shall we? By my count eight presidents have used the Insurrection Act to quell riots – Trump has done little – except threaten. But he’s the one the media hacks / co-conspirators of domestic terrorists call fascist? By my count, Jefferson, Lincoln, Jackson, Grant, Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, and HW Bush have all used the Insurrection Act. The last time it was invoked was the 1992 Rodney King – LA riots. I think, Trump has more than enough historical justification – not to mention the reality of the coordinated efforts of domestic terrorists and anarchists. But if I find anything to really criticize about Trump is that sometimes he waits a tad too long to act. This is one of those times.
In 1807 Jefferson signed the Insurrection Act to foil a plot by Burr to invade Mexico and take over newly acquired Louisiana. The same Burr who killed Hamilton in their famous duel. Quite the story. I’m surprised some Hollywood idiot hasn’t made it into a musical yet. Look it up.
Lincoln in fact used the Insurrection Act to justify the Civil War: “After the Civil War, the Insurrection Act was further amended to give the president authority to enforce the 14th Amendment and the conditions of Reconstruction in the South. That authority is now found in Section 253 of Title 10 of the U.S. Code, which gives the president the right to take military action within a state when “any part or class of its people is deprived of a right, privilege, immunity, or protection named in the Constitution and secured by law, and the constituted authorities of that State are unable, fail, or refuse to protect that right, privilege, or immunity, or to give that protection.” That’s the same authority invoked during the civil rights era by Presidents Eisenhower, John F. Kennedy and Lyndon Johnson to deploy troops to the South to enforce desegregation in defiance of the governors of Arkansas, Mississippi and Alabama. The Insurrection Act was last invoked in 1992 under President George H.W. Bush, after Peter Wilson, then-governor of California, requested help to quell widespread riots after four police officers charged in the beating of Rodney King were acquitted. In 2005, after Hurricane Katrina devastated Louisiana and the Gulf Coast, President George W. Bush explored expanding the Insurrection Act to place command of the region’s National Guard under federal control. Ultimately, Bush declined to invoke the act, although it was eventually amended in 2006 to broaden the scope under which the president may act under the law.” 1
We have many forces arrayed against Trump and those of us who believe in the Constitution and Rule of Law are on the side of Trump – not the fascists and domestic terrorists. Floyd’s death tragic though it was, was just another opportunity for the Community Organizers, Domestic Terrorists, Anarchists to bring it all down, to extort favors, and of course, the Ruling Class, the cowards, the traitors, the Sad Dogs and pathetic ex-military are all too eager to watch the country burn if they get more face time on CNN or MSLSD…who knows, even Fox will probably give them air time. Such wise generals, ex-generals, with no sense of history or loyalty. Just more greedy scum from the swamp.
