New Dancers in Woke Europe:
The Breitbart article is linked. A British woke dance school has banned ballet. Hmm. Too “white European ideas”. So, like other woke schools, let’s make everyone equal. Equal outcomes, not equal opportunity. Fat people or ethnic minorities would be at a disadvantage. Reminds me of a Vonnegut novel, Harrison Bergeron. At least in the Vonnegut novel, white ballerinas get to dance, but to make it equal they have to wear weights so they can’t jump higher than the fat girls. But that’s not even acceptable today. What these novelists from 50 years ago and political futurist fiction types couldn’t predict is that censorship and out right discrimination would be their method for leveling the playing field. Well, Orwell did sort of hint at things like this in Animal Farm – “some animals are more equal than others”. He did predict they’d change history and brainwash the masses in 1984, but I don’t know if anyone saw this sort of outright banning and censorship and total rejection of civilization. Yes, the tyrant always wants control, but literally destroying civilization to gain it? Even that they couldn’t predict. Good news is that this nihilistic movement can’t last. Even the most diehard lefty still appreciates great ballet, opera and music all derived from white Europeans.
In San Francisco, one of the of most respected and modern ballet and dance companies in the world performed Helgi Thomasson’s “Swan song” Swan Lake – who retired after 37 years as head of the World Class SF Ballet Company, and I was fortunate to see 2 versions of his great production of Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake. Breath taking.
There is no substitute for talent, genius and hard work. Woke Fat Dancers – maybe there’s a job for you as a clowns in the circus, but don’t come to the hallowed halls where great performers have shared real beauty and the highest cultural achievement of mankind and think your pop culture version of fat girls twerking is going to substitute for anything other than soft porn. Yes, mankind will live on with fine art. Woke art is nothing more than a sick joke and downward spiral to the lowest common denominator of the herd and the truly jealous mentally ill.
