Donald John Trump bloviates and sometimes even his supporters get tired of it – but I have to give him credit for doing what he can to offset some of the biggest mistakes made by the Courts. The SCOTUS has made some whoppers over the years – Dred Scott that legalized slavery – or Plessy that legalized segregation are the easiest ones to demonstrate just how bad a SCOTUS decision can be. But the recent Birthright Citizenship case is clearly one that leads nowhere but to the same outcome we got from Dred Scott or Plessy – Civil War.
Some will dismiss this prediction – but you don’t have to be Nostradamus to see where allowing enemies of this country to easily invade can lead to anything other than violence when votes and the ballot box no longer has any meaning and the worst of the worst radically transforms this country from a free society to one that becomes a Marxist godless nanny state. With unlimited Birthright citizenship, enemies or simply serfs will inevitably give us mob rule – and turn America into a country where patriots either fight or accept slavery and serfdom that comes from atheists, Communists, serfs and autocrats.
So Trump has given us a new Exec Order to limit Birthright Citizenship. It won’t hold given the stupidity of the 6 who voted for it and sadly the match has been lit. This one exchange says it all. “Birth tourism” came up during Supreme Court oral arguments . In regard to that issue, Chief Justice John Roberts told the U.S. solicitor general, John Sauer, “You do agree that that has no impact on the legal analysis before us.” Sauer said that such tourism is evidence of the negative effects of the prevailing interpretation of the Citizenship Clause. “We’re in a new world now … where 8 billion people are one plane ride away from having a child who is a U.S. citizen,” Sauer said.
“Well, it’s a new world. It’s the same Constitution,” Roberts replied.
But Sauer is clearly the only rational person in this argument. As been said by many – the Law – the Constitution is not a “suicide” pact – but to Roberts and the 5 other morons who voted with him – it is.
