Yahoo News – an oxymoron in and of itself – has alleged that Lt. Gov. of Texas Dan Patrick, essentially has said that seniors need to die for the good of the economy. Huh? Did he say that? Patrick is turning 70 next week, so he’s pretty much putting his almost 70-year-old body where his almost 70-year-old mouth is. Here’s what he said: “As a senior citizen, are you willing to take a chance on your survival in exchange for keeping the America that all America loves for your children and grandchildren?’ And if that’s the exchange, I’m all in,” Patrick said, later adding, “My message is, let’s get back to work. Let’s get back to living. Let’s be smart about it, and those of us who are 70-plus, we’ll take care of ourselves.”
As a senior myself, I’m pretty much in agreement. I’m a senior with a heart condition and I may indeed not recover if I get the virus, but I’m willing to take the risk. I’m sick of the Kabuki Theater. I agree with the POTUS that sometimes the cure is worse than the disease. One month more max to prepare hospitals as best we can then slowly open up the economy. Common sense. That’s a commodity in short supply when people are manipulated by a self-serving corrupt govt and media and untold forces that do in fact make me a conspiracy theorist on this crisis.
The Twitter world of course went bonkers castigating Patrick for wanting to throw grandpa and grandma over the cliff. It’s what the illiberal left does every election year. Fear and Loathing – and any hyperbolic image they can think of to get one of theirs elected. The reality of physics and economics never enters into their calculus. Calculus – why, most lefties have trouble with times tables. Kidding aside, I mean they do not understand that if the economy crumbles – those social security checks, those Medicare benefits evaporate like they do in all bankrupt nations. Just ask what the benefits look like in that once thriving capitalist nation of Venezuela. Last I heard they were eating Zoo animals. Next it will be each other.
Point is, we can walk and chew gum at the same time. Yes, we needed to take a step back, do what our experts think best to “flatten the curve” of the virus – but we cannot live in this bubble for much longer without doing permanent damage to our economy – and perhaps doing more harm than good – as millions of people go stir crazy – some become depressed to the point of suicide – and all sorts of unintended consequences of this lock down raise its ugly head – beside the uptick in mental illness – seemingly bullet proof teens will continue to mingle and party and then go home at give grandpa and grandma the virus while they survive – and our entire student population – at very little risk – falls further behind – small businesses fold – and despite the best efforts of the Govt – too little is done too late to save millions of small businesses.
Screw twitter twits who think that just because some megalomaniac in a white robe is all knowing we should follow them over the cliff – remember – WE, I, did not elect him or her to make the tough calls. Yes, I trust Trump to make the hard decision that may result in an uptick in deaths of seniors – but as for me, I agree with Patrick – I am putting my near 70 year old body where my near 70 year old mouth is – and I think many seniors my age would agree. Prepare the best we can for about a month or so more. Then let’s go back to work!
Swami predicts Trump will do just that. The economy will rebound. Seniors will die. Others will die and if people were smart – which they aren’t in a time of crisis – they’d reelect him. Instead they’ll blame him. So, although Trump saves the economy, the country, swami also predicts bumbling, stumbling corrupt Biden takes over for four years. America returns to its declining apologetic ways. China achieves its great victory as the number one economy in the world. China, the WHO, the Democrats, and the Corrupt deal makers win! America survives but its decline and road to serfdom is now secured. America is no longer the home of the free and land of the brave. It is a timid place ruled by corrupt and evil forces.
