According to Yahoo Rick Newman – I mean Yahoo.com contributor and non-doctor – I’m supposed to take advice from the guy that gave us the failure of Obamacare, Dr. Ezekiel Emmanuel – brother of the Obama COS and failed Mayor of Chicago? His ballet dancing brother said famously “never let a good crisis go to waste”. Is Dr. Emmanuel’s motivation to help America or help his fellow democrats? So, we’re supposed to trust the corrupt Govt to move faster than the private sector? Trump is doing BOTH – aggressive PRIVATE sector and GOVT effort. But the illiberal left – as we all know – only trusts the Govt. As for me – I trust good American ingenuity and Companies – for PR and some even for altruistic reasons – that are re-tooling – almost like we did in WWII – Busch and other distilleries making hand sanitizer – Roche – sending hundreds of thousands of test kits to US – Rolls Royce, Dyson – started making ventilators. Let’s face it – the Govt just doesn’t move as fast as private industry. It’s just a fact. I know they’re all evil Big Pharma companies – unless the drugs they make saves your life or the ventilator they sent to your hospital saves your life. Maybe someday those business hating Marxists might change their tune when they figure this out. As for Bernie or AOC, I’m not holding my breath, because I don’t think they care since their desire for power is more important to them than reason and common sense.
Where Ezekiel makes sense in his concept of testing. The problem is that the evil mastermind behind Obamacare misses the point that all Marxists miss and that is – Govt is slow and a motivated private sector can make things happen fast. And today for good and not necessarily good reasons (PR and greed), companies big and small are stepping up. Now compare that to Bug-eye Bolsheviks Nancy and Chuckie – holding up the virus rescue bill in order to push their Marxist agenda – Green New Deal – money for Planned Parenthood – Solar Wind tax credits – etc. Look, I worked in the Solar industry and I’d like to see panels on every house in America that has good access to the sun. Unfortunately, too large a percentage of the panels are made in – where else, China – which of course, with predatory pricing put most of the American manufacturers out of business. Where have I heard this one before?
We have an opportunity to learn from this crisis. And if we keep Trump around for another term, we might just see policies that we need: 1. Manufacture strategic items in America – not in China. 2. A national policy to make sure that Hospitals have enough respirators and other items for the next pandemic, 3. Investigate the WHO (not Pete Townsend’s band but the World Health Organization) to make sure when they issue pandemic alerts, they are doing so to save lives – not to ruin economies and redistribute wealth for the UN, and yes, perhaps the Ethiopian head of the WHO might be in the pocket of you guessed it – China – who has been investing billions in Ethiopia – and perhaps, that’s why the WHO was so SLOW to act on this pandemic and when queried about China’s role, is spewing Chinese propaganda. 4. SECURE the Borders, get rid of absurd lotteries for immigration, find and deport Visa overstays, and build that wall on the southern border. 5. Make bills in Congress – a single issue. Not complicated, but it seems that the more severe the problem – the more the illiberal left will cram their Marxist agenda into the bill – so they never let a good crisis go to waste. 6. Investigate and prosecute any member of Congress who uses their proprietary or classified information they get while in govt service to profit by enforcing the stock act. Burr and Feinstein need to be investigated and prosecuted if found guilty. 7. Make it illegal for family members of elected officials and high ranking govt officials to profit from their position – Hunter Biden and most of the Biden family as chronicled in Profiles of Corruption; Feinstein’s husband Blum – who has had sweetheart deals with the Chinese for decades while she served on the Armed Services Committee and other committees – and Mitch – no lefties, not Moscow Mitch but Beijing Mitch (sorry, no alliteration), who has a wife who sells directly to the Chinese Communist military. And countless others who receive bribes from the Chinese and other foreign governments. Whereas, I do not appreciate American companies “bribing” Congressmen, if you look at the way it really works, and thanks to Schweizer for enlightening me – actually elected officials have perfected the art of letting corporations and foreign govts know that a bill that impacts them is coming up for a vote and if they want them to vote in their favor, a contribution to the re-election campaign may be in order. Is this Quid pro quo or what, Joe? Diane? Mitch? And let’s not stop there. Universities have been infiltrated with Chinese spies – I mean full boat paying Chinese students stealing IP from both Universities and the Govt. And don’t stop there. High tech companies like Cisco, Apple hire boatloads of cheaper Chinese nationals to boost stock price – while at the same time jeopardizing their intellectual property. I saw this first hand when I worked for Cisco Systems (back when Cisco was the big dog and Apple not so big). I Trust the private sector and the govt working together. Any proposal that relies just on the govt will move too slow and cost too much and will probably not really get the job done. Like Obamacare.
