The Definition of Freedom of Speech: Censoring Censorship

Big Bad Orange man just issued an executive order to limit what Social Media can censor. Obviously, the tech giants in question ALL lean far to the illiberal left and their targets of censorship have been Conservatives and viewpoints they disagree with…as they use to say, freedom of the press, for all those who own one! In effect by this executive order, Trump is censoring “censorship”. What is censoring “censorship”? Freedom of Speech. Think people. This is what the 1st amendment is all about – protecting speech you do not like – the rest doesn’t need protecting. Social media now is more powerful in reach than most broadcast media – and to have only ONE political view allowed and a “censorship” board made up of political ideologues is counter to the 1st amendment. You may not like Trump, but this is the right move if you are truly a Civil libertarian and believe in protecting speech.
