On the Road Again….to Serfdom
If I had some background music playing right now it would be Willie Nelson’s On the Road Again. Because of the horrendous mistake of shutting down the economy and following this absurd draconian lockdown, the middle class and small businesses are being destroyed. So, to help solve this problem Trump is meeting with “industry executives”. What? Trump is meeting with business leaders, but as has been the case through this entire Wuhan Plague Hoax, he is taking advice from exactly the WRONG people.
The fundamental problem is that half the employment in this country is generated by small business owners – not large businesses and their “industry executives”. Trump should be meeting with Small business owners, not CEOs of Fortune 500 companies. That’s where the real pain is. Although Trump showed some capacity for empathy and understanding of the plight of the blue-collar worker and small businesses to get elected, at this critical juncture in changing the trajectory of this fiasco, he turns to the wrong people. Let’s face, big box stores, Home Depot, large tech monopolies are going to be just fine. Bezos and Amazon will soon be a trillion dollar company – more wealth and power than most countries. Only 16 countries out of nearly 200 countries have more than a trillion dollars of GDP. So I’m not worried about big tech or most Fortune 500 companies. Some how, the rules have been written for them and I suspect most of them will survive this plague just fine.
What do Fortune 500 executives really know about Mom and Pop businesses or restaurants or any number of the millions of businesses that give individuals real freedom in this country to own their own? Sure, you can work your ass off for a large company and perhaps get a nice salary with benefits, but you are never going to have the freedom and sense of ownership you get from owning your own business. And my experience working for one of the High-Tech Borg companies in the Silicon Valley – Cisco – put things in perspective for me. John Chambers, former CEO was famous for pumping up his employees as the stock price sky rocketed – “We just want our UNFAIR share of the market!” Everyone cheered as they saw their stock and net worth shoot up as well.
The point is that unlike a small business owner, these large dominant companies are all about putting their competition out of business and they grow by swallowing up creative small companies (that’s how I got assimilated by the Borg) – they eventually cast off employees like so much lint on their Brioni suits (that only execs wear of course, the drones all wear jeans and T’s). Don’t get me wrong, I have respect for many High Tech companies and their products we use everyday that make our life easier and more productive, but the folks who run these companies are not at their core anything other than modern robber barons who have absolutely zero loyalty to the US or its citizens – which in effect makes them infinitely worse than those robber barons often vilified in our history texts. These companies lobby our corrupt congress to make sure that they can get tax loopholes and as many cheap foreign workers as possible – and these are high paying jobs that Americans are qualified for and want to do. But these tech companies know that they can pump up their bottom line and stock price by getting indentured servants from India and China and elsewhere. Yes, even now with millions of Americans without jobs – our Congress is pushing bills to allow even more H1B1 visas. There’s a list of 52 Republicans pushing for this and I suspect all Democrats are already on board with it. So good luck 2020 Grads, you are doubly screwed this year.
So here we go again, down Hayek’s Road to Serfdom. This plague has done what over a century of Marxist clap trap could never do to America – turn its citizens into compliant wimps and cowards. Don’t wear a mask says comrade Fauci. No, sorry, now you must wear your mask. The virus won’t be a problem. Sorry, yes, the virus will be a major problem. 2.2 Million Americans will die if we don’t shut down all non-essential businesses – which of course are ALL small businesses. Wear your mask and stay at least six feet apart. Stay inside, where it is safe says all-knowing Fauci and Redfraud of the CDC – and don’t pay attention to the fact that the virus lives for days inside and only minutes outside in the sun. Well, now there’s only going to be 60,000 deaths. But, Democrat Governors come to the rescue of the idiots who came up with those lousy computer models. These Dem governors in NY, NJ, MI, and PA now have executive orders to force plague positive patients into Nursing Homes. That should pump up the numbers! And it did. Blood on their hands, but not to worry, no one on CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, MSLSD will mention it…and they haven’t. Well, in reality, the virus is no more lethal than other flu viruses, but with the help of governors forcing patients into Nursing homes, thousands of elderly sick people died much sooner than they had to. Well, you know, to make that Globalist Socialist Utopian omelet, you gotta break a few eggs!
Trump’s mistake all along was listening to Fauci and all the illiberal locusts of the left – with all their bad and contradictory advice based on policies of the Communist Chinese Wuhan model. What could go wrong following them? Unless Trump can work a miracle and get small businesses rolling again – we’re going to have a permanent 10%+ unemployment rate – large numbers on food stamps, welfare and unemployment insurance – just like the failed states in the EU or during the good old days of Obama. They’ll manipulate the stats and say they have 8% unemployment or less but it will be double that and the small business owners will disappear as well those jobs – and the middle class will be further decimated by the Marxists and Globalists whose objective is a populous of submissive compliant serfs…
Trump should be listening to Mom and Pop business owners and following their lead. But he is not…I hear it in the background, On the Road Again…Just can’t wait to be on the road again…
