Well, he is not John Galt that’s for sure! So, if you are with me this far, you remember the enigmatic character in Ayn Rand’s Atlas Shrugged. In her future Dystopian novel, she had the Ruling Class oppress the “producers” to such an extent that eventually they just stopped producing. Hence, Atlas “shrugged” the world off his shoulders. Get it? That saves you about 1000 pages or so to figure out what the hell the title meant. The part she overlooked in her vision of the future is that the world is a big place and slaves and serfs will do just about anything for a slightly larger piece of the pie – no matter how empty of calories and no matter how tasteless. In this new one world Ruling Class, led by the Chinese Communist model, you can still have producers rewarded just enough to keep producing while still enslaving the proles.
I digress, Charlie Dent. According to that reliable Verizon acquisition Yahoo – Charlie says thousands of disheartened Republicans are forming an anti-Trump wing of the party. No offense Charlie but that wing has always been there – long before Trump. My sense if there is an exodus from the GOP it has more to do with RINOS than Trump. It was there with HW Bush. It was there with W Bush. It was there when McCain and Romney ran for president. We call them Republicans in Name Only – Rinos. Witty, right? Charlie is fed up with this notion of “populism”. Imagine actually a nation with borders that protects and promotes its own citizens rather than the one world Utopian vision of a one-party ruling elite? How absurd, right? Well, what he’s really saying is that the traditional Chamber of Crony Socialism that gave us Bushes and Cheney’s and Romneys and that “maverick” Mc Cain have always been for the Ruling Class global trade that made a few elites rich and promoted the Military Industrial Complex and endless wars.
On CNN, Zuker’s Clinton, Commie, News outlet – owned by AT&T (see any connection here with the old Bell Monopolies and News yet?) – Charlie said he’s forming a wing centered on core principles like “Democracy”. Hmmm. Well, 74 or 75 million Americans voted for Trump and that number is probably higher since we have no idea how much fraud was really committed by the software on voting machines in about half the states in this country – not to mention all the voting irregularities that allowed Dems to change mail in voting to compensate for the Wuhan Scamdemic. But let’s go with the big lie, that Trump only got 74 million votes, 11 million more than he got four years earlier when he won the presidency. It is still odd that Biden – who did no significant campaigning – remained in his basement – who when he came out of his bunker made one senile blunder after another, somehow got 80 million votes. Really?
By the way, I hate to inform Charlie and millions of brainwashed Americans, democracy is how we elect many in the government, but in actuality we are a Republic. A notion that all these folks seem to overlook. Democracy. In the “pure” sense, our Founders and Framers knew it was not what they envisioned. Madison, Hamilton and Jay, aka Publius, made a good case in their letters to the newspapers of the day about the historical failure of pure democracies in Greek and Roman city states (later assembled in the Federalist Papers). Inevitably, the tyranny of the mob leads to anarchy and chaos. In their wisdom the Framers of the Constitution gave us the electoral college to give smaller states a chance to have a voice in this new Republic. We have three co-equal branches of government, to keep any one of them from becoming tyrannical – especially the executive branch. They also had states “appoint” senators. In the progressive movement under the real racist Wilson, we got not only the Marxist Progressive Income tax but popular vote for senators in the 17th amendment. It is still unsettling when a former first lady born in the Midwest, governor’s wife in Arkansas, then first lady in DC somehow is able to use her “privilege” and popularity to become senator in New York. Or McCain picking Arizona. Or Romney picking Utah after his run for Governor in Massachusetts. Just doesn’t feel like these folks really care about the states they represent – only their prospective individual future – like say running for President. They all did. Fortunately for us, they all lost! Those two amendments, Income Tax and Popular vote for senators were major hits to the Republic, but the electoral college and a few other key checks to the tyranny of the mob – which is where we are now – kept us from degenerating into a failed Banana Republic like so many nations before and after our founding. I fear the rules that kept us a Democratic Republic and strong are disintegrating before our eyes. As our wise friends who wrote the lyrics to Epitaph by King Crimson warned: “Knowledge is a deadly friend when no one sets the rules, the fate of all mankind I fear is in the hands of fools”.
