What’s new? Another convoluted non-scientific “study” blaming Trump for Covid deaths yet the evidence does not make the case. In fact, they make the case that for 40 years, two decades, even with Obamacare, stats showed that life expectancy in the US declines. But as in all things coming from the left, Lancet Commission rather than doing an in-depth analysis of what really caused this decline in life expectancy, just blames Trump.
“Usually when the economy gets better, life expectancy improves rapidly, but there was this decoupling of the overall economy from the overall well-being of the population as measured by life expectancy. That is the condition that existed in the United States before COVID hit. Now, what do we think happened? We think it was four decades of failures of policymakers.”
About 40% of US COVID-19 deaths “could have been averted,” a new analysis of President Donald Trump’s public-health policies found.
The report, published by the Lancet Commission, excoriated Trump’s handling of the pandemic and general approach to public health. “He expedited the spread of COVID-19 in the US,” the authors wrote.
This comment came from a far-left group. Lancet has been criticized for the same type of Hypocrisy that applies to all elitists pushing the Climate Change agenda – you know, John Kerry, our new Climate Czar, telling folks at the Iceland convention, that he flies with a private jet spewing out more carbon than most people will use in a lifetime – “Because, well, I’m different.” Yes, elitists are hypocrites. Flying a commercial jet instead of a private one would give him some credibility, but he and those elitists on the left are all guilty – Rules for THEE, not for ME!
Bottom line, is that Trump shut down the border in Jan and Feb of 2020 when the Dems were pushing for open borders and travelling on subways during the Chinese New Year. The reality is that the Virus came from China. The biggest errors of judgment were made by Dem governors who issued executive orders to push Covid patients into nursing homes – giving thousands of elderly and sick patients a death sentence. Trump’s “operation warp-speed” with Govt and Private Industry cooperation produced a vaccine in less than a year – unheard of when vaccines typically have taken years if ever to produce. So where in the study do you find the deaths prevented by closing the borders early, production of ventilators, the push for therapeutics to reduce deaths while going at “warp speed” to produce a vaccine in record time. So, 40% of deaths could be avoided by Trump. Actually quite an arbitrary number. But I can give you a much more reasonable number of deaths from Dem Governors in nursing homes reported by NBC – not a friend of Trump as a major purveyor of “fake and biased news” – 39% of all Covid deaths came from Nursing homes. Of course, the study and all the members of the illiberal locusts of the left blame Trump, but clearly it was executive orders from primarily four Dem Governors – especially the large nursing home death count from Cuomo’s New York that really produced the greatest death toll.
Here’a a critique of Lancet that puts their leftist POV in perspective: “Earlier this year, a groundbreaking study from the EAT-Lancet Commission outlined a climate-friendly path to feeding 10 billion people “within planetary boundaries.” Its recommendations included limiting meat consumption to about an ounce per day, or roughly two chicken nuggets, and bulking up on low-impact foods like beans.
The backlash was swift. Critics argued that scaling back on meat would devastate smallholder farmers who rely on animals for income. Others claimed the report was based on outdated nutritional science. Some thought the diet was just too hard to follow; our writer Sam Bloch agreed after trying it for a week. Almost a year later, the negative press coverage refuses to die: As recently as this week, the president of the Irish Cattle and Sheep Farmers’ Association pointed to reports that one of the study’s backers had invested in an airline, saying the move “exposes complete hypocrisy and hidden agendas.” (He has a point: By some calculations, the carbon footprint of a single transatlantic flight is larger than a year of meat consumption.)
Like most of the propaganda coming from the illiberal left, the Lancet Commission has a political agenda, not a practical and real scientific one. Huh, Trump’s fault but it really is 4 decades of mismanagement. C’mon man. To quote macho Joe, which is it man? Do you want me to get Corn pop and straighten this out for you? The reality is that blaming Trump is a political move that is still being used as exemplified by the absurd second Impeachment after Trump has already left office. Truly the left has Trump Derangement Syndrome.
Of course, it could be that almost hundred thousand drug over dose deaths per year from fentanyl and opioids could account for some of the death count and the drop in life expectancy in America. Perhaps the poverty not just in the minority communities but middle America where jobs have been shipped over seas and you find drug over doses and suicides surging. Perhaps, the lockdowns, suicides, depression could account for some of this drop in life expectancy. And yes, if you set out to kill off the sick and elderly, Covid-19 seems to be quite effective.
The article is simply another puff piece to push for Universal health policy – single payer systems. What’s also not taken into account is the open border policies during W Bush, Clinton and Hussein Obama, that easily accounts for the 20-40 million uninsured in America. No, there are many more illegals here than 11 million. Though in states like California most illegals can get Medicaid or free health care. How many illegals have spread the virus because they are living underground in crowded rooms?
The facts are that the Communist regime in China in collusion with the WHO lied about the danger of the virus. And as far as why there have been so many deaths, much of it can be attributed to politics and the failed policies of the Democrats in charge during the Clinton and Obama Biden years as well as the Rino Bush years. While Pelosi and Dems were pushing their FIRST impeachment hoax in Feb 2020, and she was tearing up his state of the Union address. Did the Dems actually pay attention to anything other than impeaching Trump? Trump in that very same state of the union – warned of the Wuhan Plague. But the Dems were too busy trying to get rid of Trump. Trump in Jan 2020 limited travel from China. Of course, the Big Media ignored or dismissed it. Joe called him xenophobic, and during Chinese New Year in Feb, both Nancy in SF and De Blasio in NY told their folks to ride subways, party – essentially spread the plague. And for New York, the rise in Covid death toll was needlessly caused by Gov Cuomo giving an executive order to put Covid patients in Nursing homes – essentially giving those elderly patients a death sentence. Hence, the Dems, their open border policies, their decisions to order Covid patients into nursing homes, these were the real reasons there has been such a high number of deaths in the east coast and those Dem controlled states, Mich, NY, NJ. And let’s not give Trump any credit for sending ships to NY and supplies and personnel to Javits center to help NY. But instead of sending Covid patient to those places made available by Trump – Covid patients went to Nursing homes or other hospitals making the situation worse and wasting those resources. The Emmy winning Gov who had the audacity to write a book about how successful he was handling the pandemic (the man has nerve) should be put in jail for mass murder, but instead the illiberal left ignores Cuomo and blames Trump.
And with Operation Warp speed, not one but 2 vaccines were developed in less than a year when no vaccine has ever been developed in less than several years. So, the media and the tech tyrants thanked him by lying about him – impeaching him again – a second time for show – even though there was no real evidence, no grounds, and he’s not even in office. Insane. Absurd. But like all good lefties, blame Trump. Why bother actually doing a real scientific analysis? Are they going to hold Democrats who have not only made the virus more lethal by nursing home executive orders, but also their open borders and shipping jobs overseas – will these Democrats be held to account: Cuomo, other Dem governors, Pelosi, the WHO, CDC and the lying media and Tech Tyrants. Not happening. This Confederacy of Democrat Dunces and Power mad elitists are now in full control. And, yes, if you are not benefiting from being aligned with Communist China, Big Media, Big Tech or the Dem Party – I would be very, very worried about your personal future with Big Brother and his Oligarchs in charge.
