Had to laugh. A Yahoo editor at large Sozzi put out a puff piece using the Texas winter storm and resulting power outages to lobby for trillions of dollars in infrastructure as the solution. He said:
“The rolling blackouts in Texas caused by brutal winter weather — which have caused thousands to be without heat amid a taxed electrical grid — underscores the need for lawmakers to sign off on a long overdue infrastructure bill, according to one expert.”
Bernie’s – I mean Biden’s – Build Back Badder (or is Better?) only will cost $2 Trillion. A trillion here, A trillion there. Now you’re talking some real national debt. Don’t worry. So, we might have some inflation and gas will cost $5 a gallon – if you can stand waiting in line. Or you can buy an $80,000 Tesla. But that’s not going be that cheap to drive either, because power companies are going to charge you more for the electricity to charge one of those Musk mobiles. But hey, you folks voted for this. Not me.
Don’t get me wrong. I like the idea of fixing our roads and bridges and the states that don’t squander their citizens’ money already do a pretty good job. In the land of Dems, pot holes and empty promises prevail. But yes, the Feds need to do their part. But this Yahoo Sozzi doesn’t bother to mention that the reason for the power outages in Texas was due to the fact that 25% of the Texas grid is run by Windmills. That’s right. The idiots didn’t anticipate that a freeze below 32 degrees would lock the Windmills and cut off a quarter of the power in the state. Yes, even a fairly well-run state like Texas is subject to stupid decisions. In a badly run state like California, forest management would have prevented the massive wildfires that took out power lines which led to much of the power outages there. But Sozzi’s answer is what all left-wing Dems see when there’s a catastrophe – an opportunity to spend OTHER people’s money.
What this really is, is a wake-up call for all the Green New Deal morons who think that Solar and Wind – can replace other sources of energy. But here’s where I throw a curve ball. I’m all in for solar and wind but only with enough Battery Back-up to make them viable. Yes, batteries are the future. In the meantime, until Musk and the other folks rolling out batteries for utilities and residential are in full swing, I’d say limit green to 10% of your power. That’s the answer for the grid. As far as new infrastructure, I suspect with the puppet Biden in the Oval, there’s going to be lots of well-run states and citizens footing the bill in higher taxes. 80,000,000 Americans can’t be wrong! Of course, some of us still think that a good portion of those votes came from voting machine software in Crapastan or on ballots filled in by Soros funded interns. But, of course, that’s just a conspiracy theory. Welcome the new illegals! Now that there’s no more southern border, I suppose they’ll help build the new infrastructure – well, at least the ones not on welfare or committing felonies. Welcome to the unemployment office! Good luck actual American citizens of both political persuasions. You’ll need it!
