…and the Ministry of Equality with Inequality. Wednesday Feb 13, Nancy Pelosi introduced the so-called Equality Act, a bill that would add “sexual orientation” and “gender identity” as protected classes under federal civil rights law.
So, the science of biology is being done away with by those illiberal locusts of the left in power. Any biological man can now claim to be a woman is “protected” by law. Of course, your daughter who goes into a girl’s restroom is not actually protected from a predator. The former champion female athlete who thought she was competing against only females no longer wins races because she loses to biological men claiming to be female. She might not get that scholarship that goes to the biological man who claims to be a woman. So that’s what you call “equality”?
But it may have an upside for those special carve outs for “women owned businesses” who get special treatment under the law. Now any crafty man can claim to be female and get that fat Government multi-million-dollar contract!
Then there’s the nasty intimidating effect this has on employment. Peter Vlaming a high school French teacher was fired after he refused to comply with administrators’ orders to use a female student’s preferred masculine pronouns. Vlaming had tried to accommodate the student by avoiding pronouns altogether and addressing the student by their preferred masculine name, but this was deemed insufficient by the school board. Not woke enough. Now he is “broke” enough, I suppose. My very intelligent partner who speaks a little French and Spanish notes that gender is very important to Romantic languages with the “a” for female and “o” for male in Spanish, for example “amiga” or “amigo” for the word friend. So, this poor guy was really confused trying to get rid of gender pronouns when the entire language relies on them! Sound like “Doublethink” to any of you? Also, the concept of “Newspeak” in 1984 is all about butchering the language until there are no more “thought crimes”. Obviously, Vlaming by not conforming to the Ministry of Truth committed a “thought crime” and must be punished for it.
Then there’s the medical implications of this law. Catholic hospitals in California and NJ have been sued for declining to perform hysterectomies on otherwise healthy women who want to become male. Imagine hospitals taken over by govt funded gender transitioning operations while those little life saving procedures like cancer or heart treatment take a back seat in the cue.

In fact, parents in Ohio lost custody of their seventeen-year-old daughter because they declined to put her on testosterone supplements.”

“The Equality Act would also hurt charities, volunteers, and the populations they serve.
State and local sexual orientation and gender identity laws have shut down numerous faith-based adoption and foster care agencies across the country, in Pennsylvania, New York, Illinois, California, Massachusetts, and the District of Columbia.
These states wrongly treated the belief that children do best with both a mother and a father as discriminatory, and kids are the ones who are paying the price. With 438,000 children languishing in foster care nationwide, we need more agencies working to help kids find homes, not fewer.”
Yes, the Equality Act is not “equality” – it is insanity. But when you have power, what is greater power than to legislate insanity and get away with it?!
