The NY Slimes calls it outrageous. How dare you put in your Omnibus Reform Bill to ensure election integrity something so unkind as not allowing someone to give you food or water while you stand in line to vote. Despicable. Only heartless Republicans could think of such a thing. Imagine standing in line to vote and you and your spouse are hungry or thirsty. No longer can some generous Democrat pushing his candidate for equity and social justice give you some water or food. No longer can he harass you and tell you how bad Trump is. No, tell me it’s not so!

Less outrageous but more insidious is a provision that removes the secretary of state from his (or her) position as chairman of the State Election Board and replaces him with a new nonpartisan member selected by a majority of Georgia’s Republican-controlled Legislature. The law also gives the board, and by extension the Legislature, the power to suspend underperforming county election officials and replace them with a single individual.
How outrageous! Of course Jamelle might have missed that the Constitution clearly states that State Legislatures are the ones actually responsible for elections:
Article I, Section 4, Clause 1:
The Times, Places and Manner of holding Elections for Senators and Representatives, shall be prescribed in each State by the Legislature thereof; but the Congress may at any time by Law make or alter such Regulations, except as to the Places of chusing Senators.
And what’s this about voter IDs. Don’t you know that millions of poor black folks don’t have IDs. And we can no longer extend voting days or weeks or months! Outrageous. How undemocratic you Georgia Republicans are! As we all know blacks are oppressed and they just don’t know how to get IDs because of white supremacy and Jim Crow. And if we don’t extend voting to days or weeks or months, how are we going to harvest votes and make sure we get every crack head or junkie to vote too? And it’s about time we give 16 year olds, or maybe even 12 year olds the right to vote. They have all been indoctrinated, I mean, educated on Equity, Wokeness and the Cancel Culture to know how to vote. Well, as JoeBama has told us, it’s not just Jim Crow – it’s Eagle Crow! It’s worse than lynching and voter intimidation. It requires these poor helpless hapless blacks to actually possess an ID. Yes, that’s worse than Jim Crow – Eagle Crow it is! Of course, none of these poor hapless blacks can buy a six pack of beer, get a fishing license, rent or buy property, or attend the democrat convention – but as long as they are allowed to vote without restrictions, we have real democracy. Just ask CNN, MSNBC or the NY Slimes.
