Read an article where now that Roe has been overturned, the far left is shaking in their Birkenstocks that Justice Thomas and the rest will actually redefine marriage as between a man and woman. The horror! Problem is that the purpose of marriage is procreation to produce a healthy spiritually based family – and that necessarily requires a man and a woman. An example of what happens when you have no marriage or stable family can be seen in the high crime rate in black inner cities where there is no father present.
As a libertarian, don’t care what people do in their bedroom and I think it’s a good thing if most gays have long term meaningful relationships rather than random sex (which was a root cause of the spread of aids), but calling that relationship “marriage” is illogical. What’s going on here is legalizing things by changing the definition. For example, simply calling yourself a girl and being a mediocre male swimmer simply to win girls events is simply illogical and only makes sense to people who are either mentally deficient, political hacks or insane. The answer for gays who want legal rights is to make sure that their domestic partnerships have the same financial benefits as marriage, but please do not call same sex relationships marriage. Changing definitions may make deviants feel better but tolerance of lifestyles should not allow tolerance of butchering language and logic. Butchering the language to normalize things that don’t compute seems to be the goal of the mentally deranged illiberal locusts of the left.
