A Facebook poster lamented the fact that there are only two developed countries still granting unrestricted birthright citizenship – U.S. and Canada. But given the inevitable ruling by our SCOTUS, it is predicted that that outdated law is likely to continue. After that ruling, the only non-violent answer after that is an amendment to the Constitution. Not optimistic it can happen. So we’re screwed. The dutiful but myopic conservative justices will do their duty and say – we have 150 years of precedent – so it must be right. 150 years of bad precedent, in some ways, is just as odious as the hundreds of years of legal slavery in the Americas. Of course, “jurisdiction thereof” is clear that not every baby was supposed to be allowed automatic citizenship. Foreign diplomat’s children born in America have always been considered only citizens of their diplomat parents’ country of origin. The 14th amendment was clearly meant only for former slaves who were denied citizenship rights after the passage of the 13th amendment. But the difference really is that for most of America’s history – we welcomed all with a stick and a reward – legal and not so legal immigrants access to America and its opportunities. But it wasn’t a welfare magnet for the world. Immigrants didn’t get free handouts. But times have changed. Borders were left wide open and the incentives for the poor and criminals were numerous. Welfare incentives kept growing and has become a magnet for the less industrious poor of the world. Cartels, human traffickers, drug dealers, made billions in illegal earnings. Existential enemies – radical Muslims – China – saw an opportunity to invade and change our politics to their benefit. Mexican nationalists have conspired to send the poor of their country and Latin America to reclaim territories they still consider is theirs – California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, etc. They have consulates in virtually every state to assist their invaders – 50 when most countries only have a few. As chronicled by Schweitzer in his book The Invisible Coup – their leaders brag about replacing our population. The left denies the notion of “replacement theory”, but it’s not a conspiracy if we can demonstrate it is happening. And the demographics confirm it is happening. Then there’s the example of Somalian corruption in Minnesota. Or the Chinese birth tourist trade to produce American “citizens” who can be brainwashed to do the business of the CCP and not assimilate to become patriotic or productive American citizens.
If this was ship, I’d say it’s sinking. The lifeboats are full. And it’s full of corruption. Would like to blame just one party – though clearly the Democrats are the ones most guilty, but RINO republicans who have turned a blind eye to illegal sanctuary cities for cheap labor are culpable too.
Congress being divided certainly won’t act. Sadly, we are approaching what our Founders feared when they gave us a Republic and divided government. We are in the process of becoming a Tyranny not of a “King” – but of a Tyranny of the majority – of takers. And the only logical conclusion is when the makers get fed up with the takers – and the corrupt State and Federal governments run out of spending other people’s money – the system implodes. It seems that the only way to counter a total corrupt tyranny of the majority – is with bullets and bombs and not ballots – a second civil war. Too bad the SCOTUS can’t see what their ruling will do to America. It is very much like what happened after Dred Scott – which unanimously and ignominiously “legalized” slavery. It became the match that lit the 1st Civil War.
