To quote from the SF Gate – “The Nerd Reich” is a humorous title, but the laugh gets stuck in the throat when you begin to consider just how percipient it truly is. Prominent tech figures are not subtle about their authoritarian tendencies. All that Durán does with the book is quote them verbatim. In 2009, Peter Thiel famously admitted that, “I no longer believe that freedom and democracy are compatible.” Meanwhile, Elon Musk fashioned a Nazi salute during a post-inauguration celebration for President Donald Trump in 2025.“
Here we go again, back to the “Nazi” salute story. If Kamala raised her arm stretching for that bottle of Pino Grigio – or cackling while waving like the drunken shrew she is – no problem. But if the indoctrinated C-Students that call themselves journalists today catch one of the supporters of Trump raising his hand – it must be a Nazi salute. No, pal, it was Elon waving to the crowd. And I just have to wonder if these indoctrinated fools that buy this crap are really that stupid?
Not clear exactly what Thiel meant when he was quoted that “freedom and democracy are no longer compatible” – it is actually not that controversial. He is saying something Madison, Jay and Hamilton argued in the Federalist Papers when arguing for checks and balance of the Constitution – that pure democracy inevitably failed. By giving examples of failed Greek and Roman cities states – the conclusion was that mob rule, anarchy, tyranny would be the end result of a country that ONLY relied on “Democracy”. Hence, our founding Constitution that replaced our weak Articles of Confederation – has a divided government – with strict limits on each branch of government, and an electoral college system – precisely to avoid the scenario where large population centers could dictate to the smaller rural states – and why all states no matter the size has two senators. We are Constitutional Republic and when a state like California no longer has checks and balances to allow for opposition in government – it inevitably becomes led by mob rule – directly a result of open borders, welfare to buy votes to maintain that power. As long as the billionaires support that one party rule – they are mostly rewarded. But stray from the course like Musk – and support Trump – rather that supporting one party rule that has more in common with Communist China that an actual free Capitalist state – and you are ridiculed as a fascist member of those evil Capitalist Christians that support Trump. But essentially the end result is that many of these Billionaires – even the Democrat supporting ones – are doing their best to flee to other more business friendly havens like Florida or Texas. Eventually, there must be a course correction somewhere when they run of people that actually can pay the taxes.
I still get a kick out of seeing those Tesla owners with a Musk sticker in a circle with a line through it. What sort of dissonance are these folks going through? Must be tough! Fascism is essentially one party control – and given the fact that we live in a Constitutional Republic (hardly a pure Democracy – purposely set up this way to avoid the tyranny of the Mob) with not only a Congress and Court to check the executive dept. But the autocrats are always on the move to defy our laws and gain power. We have states and dozens of Democrat controlled cities that openly defy Federal law with illegal sanctuary territories – even if those folks they’re protecting happen to be drug dealers, human traffickers or just dead beats that want to take advantage of our generous welfare system. (I know they only come here to do the work Actual legal Americans won’t do….yeah, right!) But they have lots of allies: a Media and Hollywood that clearly is a very effective propaganda arm of the Democrats, now called Social democrats – or essentially a Marxist Party – convincing indoctrinated students from the corrupt teachers unions in K-12 and Marxist professors in colleges that Socialism is good – Capitalism is bad. Don’t forget – White men are mostly white supremacists and racists. Columbus day is now “indigenous people day”! Columbus bad – but indigenous people – all good – in fact – It’s their land – right! But the closest thing we have to actual “complete control of all the instrumentalities of Govt” – in America – is the People’s Republic of CA and the uninterrupted 16 year rein of one party. Tell me why CA doesn’t fit this definition of “Fascism” after the last 16 years of Democrat control: “…associated with a centralized autocratic government under a dictatorial leader, with severe economic and social control and forced suppression of opposition“.
