The simple answer is that our Republic will go the way all failed Republics – it will fall. It will cease to exist. It will turn into a chaotic banana republic like so many failed states that exist on this planet. Notice that I call this country a Republic. It is not and was never meant to be a pure democracy. Yet that word democracy keeps cropping up in all our modern politicians’ talking points both Republicans and Democrats. But as we’ve found out in two recent presidential elections, the popular vote is not what decides who is elected president. As a smart politician answered one upset Democrat when Hillary lost and questioned the Electoral College, he responded – “It’s what counts!”
The number of electors in states determines the winner. So, New York, LA, Chicago and dozens of large metro areas can all vote for Democrats, but if enough States get enough electors, or as recent history, 30 states vs. 20 states, even though those large Democrat cities give them more numbers, the 30 states give the Republicans more electors and the victory. And since the Democrats, though they control very large cities and states, and won the popular vote, they lost the election. And as you have heard more and more often Hillary, the loser, and her Democrat friends are not happy with this pesky electoral college, and would like us to do away with it and have a “pure” democracy.
Thank God our founders actually learned from history. Pure Democracy inevitably ends in tyranny and anarchy. Greek city states that embraced pure democracy always failed. Give the mob power, brainwash them that they deserve things they don’t deserve, make them angry, manipulate them and you can get them to intimidate your opposition, riot and do your bidding. Unfortunately, this does not make for a stable or civil society. Democracy in the hands of the brainwashed or a paid off mob is not very helpful to growing a working country, even if it does for some period keep some very evil tyrants in power. Today in this Wuhan Plague Presidential election year, riots and democracy are in action for all to see. All of those rioters the media call peaceful protesters are showing us what democracy looks like. Good Democrats. Get rid of the police. Riot. Loot. Pummel poor innocents in the streets. Though the complicit media, social media, the corrupt university and teachers’ unions all back these Democrats, the only thing standing between our thriving American Republic and the Democrat mob is the genius of the electoral college and our other “checks and balances” that gives us a firewall, a buffer to protect us from the mob.
