Who stands to benefit from the pandemic – real or imagined? Yes, this sounds conspiratorial. Because the data that we have right now does NOT justify the draconian measures where the entire economy has been shut down and literally the Western World has ground to a halt. Why? The WHO has labeled this Covid-19 virus a pandemic. But do we have data to justify the draconian measures that have taken place in the last few weeks?
No, we do not. I speculated in a previous article from my simple observation of known data that the notion that this virus will be worse than our existing flu and cold viruses in terms of mortality is unknown and until we have more scientific statistically valid testing, we are doing things that may in fact be counterproductive. For example, closing down schools may indeed flatten the “curve” since there will be less social interaction. However, the possibility even probability exists that the kids will not simply sit in their rooms isolated. In fact, with everyone staying home, it is altogether likely that if any of the kids or neighbor’s kids or neighbors have the virus and spend time with their elderly grandparents –we might be actually exacerbating the situation?
There are several examples given in an enlightening article no doubt likely to incur the wrath of the WHO and those WHO Benefit from this pandemic. Dr. John Ioannidis, a Stanford epidemiologist has written that perhaps we have “a fiasco in the making”. Well, that seems quite obvious and a bit of an understatement. When you essentially tank the largest economies in the world based on rather limited data, and actions based on fear and panic, one wonders whether it is worth it or whether we may in some cases be doing more harm than good.
Right now, the number one priority should be scientific testing and better understanding if this virus is really that much more deadly than our existing influenza viruses we have to deal with every year. Yes, I get that we will not have a vaccine for wide use for over a year, but the fact exists that even with vaccines, our best efforts, less than half of the population are vaccinated – in 2019 – 45% got the vaccine. And it is very difficult to decipher how effective the shots are. Some studies say that they are very helpful for children, yet more conclusive studies need to occur to give us a better understanding just what is actually the cause of death in elderly patients with one or more underlying conditions that have weakened their immune systems.
As Dr. Ioannidis states, perhaps the lockdowns and “social distancing” will show some benefit in limiting the spreading the virus, but he also makes a pretty good case that even simple measures like closing schools may have unintended consequences. He also mentions, that the WHO 3.4% mortality rate has very little in common with what we see in S. Korea – less than 1% and the Cruise Ship data gives us a very WIDE degree of possible mortality rates:
“Projecting the Diamond Princess mortality rate onto the age structure of the U.S. population, the death rate among people infected with Covid-19 would be 0.125%. But since this estimate is based on extremely thin data — there were just seven deaths among the 700 infected passengers and crew — the real death rate could stretch from five times lower (0.025%) to five times higher (0.625%). It is also possible that some of the passengers who were infected might die later, and that tourists may have different frequencies of chronic diseases — a risk factor for worse outcomes with SARS-CoV-2 infection — than the general population. Adding these extra sources of uncertainty, reasonable estimates for the case fatality ratio in the general U.S. population vary from 0.05% to 1%.”
We don’t know, and being an ADMITTED Conspiracy Theorist – many will dismiss what I have to say, but I think this virus was used to purposely tank the U.S. economy and several beneficiaries come to mind. First, WHO. Who is WHO? The World Health Organization is a UN founded organization. So, on the surface without any other investigation, the UN has been shown to be composed of many third world socialist and anti-American and anti-Israel countries. Much of the organization is focused on the surface with beneficial concepts such as ending world poverty. So, for the conspiracy theorist, like myself, would they be willing tank the US and other Western countries’ economies if it gave them MORE power? Of interest, the agency has the exclusive authority to declare global health emergencies, which it has done several times since its members granted it the power in 2007.
Next, China. Why would China want to tank the US economy? Hmm. We have it as fact that the Wuhan Virus – originated in Wuhan China. Yes, I know the best-known theory is that the virus owes its origin to the wild animal “palate” for delicacies of the Chinese, such as Koala Bears, Cats, Dogs, Snakes and Bats. The latter being the prime suspect for the virus’ transmission to humans. Hmm. Wuhan also has a bio-terrorism lab. Just sayin’. Purely a coincidence. So, please disregard and stick to the script that it came from bats.
Perhaps certain political parties. Democrats wouldn’t tank the economy just to get rid of Trump and win back the House or Senate – would they? No. Disregard this theory too.
And finally, I suppose that certain shrewd greedy men would see the opportunity to buy up valuable assets on the cheap – while there is “blood running in the streets” – so to speak. Of course, George Soros would never tank an economy, ruin a currency to make billions. That sort of thing just couldn’t happen. Except for that time in 1992 when Soros bagged about $1 Billion dollars by betting against the British Pound. So, you can disregard this Conspiracy Theory as well. Qui Bono? You figure it out.
