Amendments via Convention of States That Might Save the Republic

IMHO, there is need for at least 2 Amendments to the Constitution that might help turn things around – both requiring using Article V Convention of the State to use STATES to propose and ratify. Congressional Term limits modelled after 22nd Amendment; and Balance Budget – Eliminate the IRS (87,000 Biden armed agents to extort money from citizens?) and institute a Fair Flat tax for revenue. As Noble Prize winning economist Milton Friedman has noted – a Flat tax will actually generate MORE revenue than the present Marxist inspired (one of the main planks of the Communist Manifesto) the radical Progressive (regressive) income tax. Get rid of permanent Congress involved in mutually beneficial extortion with Big Biz Oligarchs to the detriment of the US taxpayer – perhaps then we can save this Republic. As it stands now, this Republic looks more like just another corrupt Banana Republic. The red herring that a Convention of States will radically change the country is absurd. The bar is so high to ratify an amendment – 3/4 of 50 states 38 states – that we’ve only had 17 amendments since the Bill of Rights first 10. 3 of those were absurd – 2 – Prohibition/ repeal Prohibition – and the most insidious – 17th – which in the name of Democracy – an over used abused term – gave carpet baggers the right to become senators via popularity contest rather than being appointed by the States representatives as the founders intended. Yes, my third Amendment would be to repeal the 17th Amendment.
